Want to upgrade plan but keep on declined or error

    I want to upgrade from personal to premium to activate Google ads

    But when I want to pay with a debit card, the payment is always declined

    I have contacted the bank and they say my visa is working just fine. Funny enough, I last paid my personal plan 2 weeks ago

    Then why in the span of two weeks there are problems with my method of payment?

    I have contacted the bank and my visa works just fine. Cmon man… so the bank isn’t the problem then

    I tried using my wife’s mastercard and still… the payment is declined. Funny aren’t you WordPress? :)

    If I knew it turned out like this, I would instead pay someone to make my website rather than use your plan which is so horrible. I want my money back if I still can, thank you:)

  • Hi there, sorry I did not see this sooner! We answer posts in the order we receive them, and when you reply to your post before we’ve seen it, it has the effect of resetting the clock. Apologies that you kept slipping out of our view!

    We are not able to help with transaction issues like this here in our public forums since it requires sharing info that is bested handled in private.   • Hi, just to note – it looks like you made many attempts to purchase a plan upgrade, so the system automatically put a limit in place. What this means is that normally you may have to wait around 24 hours from your most recent attempt before you can attempt once more.

    We get very limited information regarding why the refusals would have happened in the first place unfortunately. What I can tell you is that even if the bank confirmed that your card is fine, the refusal still comes from your bank, and not from WordPress.com – it’s entirely possible that the bank did not recognise WordPress.com and was therefore trying to protect you from potential fraud.

    It can be worth checking with the bank once more to make sure they are aware that it is you yourself who is trying to make the purchase.

    I did also want to mention, I understand you were upgrading with the plan to use Google AdSense on your site, is that correct? If so, then it’s worth looking at the Business plan indeed as you’d want a plugin in order to use Google Adsense on your site:

    The Premium plan wouldn’t enable your site to use plugins, so I wanted to mention this before you’re surprised after upgrading.

    by this arugment, the bank shouldn’t have approved my personal plan too man. Why keep on blaming the bank ha?

    I bought personal plan 2 weeks ago with the same debit card that I want to upgrade right now

    That’s why this is very confusing and stressful

    Hi there!

    So it appears the issue is coming from two directions:

    1. Repeated failures are causing our system to automatically block further payment attempts from our side.
    2. Repeated failed payment attempts are causing your bank/credit card issuer to place a temporary block.

    We recently sent you an email about this. Have you had the chance to check your inbox?

    As of now, we have removed the block from our side. Please try upgrading once again, and if the payment fails, contact your bank/credit card issuer before trying again.

    Once your bank/credit card issuer has given you the go-ahead, you can try upgrading again.

    Should you need further help, please reply to the email we sent you so that we can keep all communication in a single place.

    I tried again to upgrade to business plan but declined

    I will try again tomorrow. I will update again whilst waiting bank to report from the problem

    hey, I just contacted the bank this morning

    the bank says my visa can work just fine and transaction in WordPress, but again, I tried to upgrade from personal to business again this morning but WordPress keeps on declining the transaction. Even my visa was declined as a payment method when I tried to save as a payment method.

    Hey WordPress, do you want my money or not? Do you have any alternative method for paying to upgrade from a personal to a business plan? I am tired of this shit!
