Want to use a blog name, but It's taken
-
Hi, let me explain my issue: I wanted to create a blog, but when filling the name in the form, It says It’s taken. I visited the url [thenameiwant].wordpress.com and it says that “[thenameiwant].wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this blog.”. So i wondered, is there any way i could possibly contact wordpress admins to see If i can use this name? If it’s a deleted blog, why can’t I use the name?
Thank you very much!

It’s too bad you didn’t for a forum search before posting this thread. If you had done a forum search you would have seen how many times this question has been asked and answered.
Blogs that have been deleted by the owner will remain deleted. We cannot, under any circumstances, allow someone to take over a blog name that was previously owned and deleted by its original/previous owner. Please do not submit support requests asking us to do this. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
I suggest that you register a blog that has a URL that’s close to the one which has been deleted.

I also note that the blog linked to your username has been deleted. Please note that 3 warnings that deleting a blog means the URL is gone forever are given when we delete a blog.
If you delete a site you will not be able to get it back and no one else will be able to use that site address. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

only personal opinion:
I know the regulation, but i feel this is not a wise way to deal with resource.
I would suggest WordPress to set deleted blog names free for reuse.

Would you want them to give yours away if for whatever reason you were away from it for a year or so?
-
well, they r deleted. that means they r not needed by the original owner. so give them away does not hurt.
by blocking these, also the original owner can not use it later. it is waste of resource for me.

Let’s just for argument say you had a blog that was very popular and say it covered religious stuff and one day you decided to delete it. A few days later someone picked up that name and started posting adult content. Your old visitors would freak wouldn’t they thinking you turned to the “dark side.”
One of the main problems is if your username is blog, and you had blog.wordpress.com and then deleted it, they cannot let anyone else have it as it would create massive confusion, and possibly all sort of issues if they assigned blog.wordpress.com to someone other than the person who had the username “blog.”
Staff have their reasons, and I tend to agree with them. Perhaps sometime in the future they will change things and after a certain period of time, perhaps a year or two, that do not match usernames.
The other thing is is I have a username of blog, and I have a blog called blog1, no one can get the username “blog1” since I have that blog name.
There are so many issues and sticky logistics associated with this that would have to somehow be worked out, and most likely a lot of blog URLs will still end up being unavailable since someone has the matching username.
