want to use a web address which is being used by someone who has deleted theirs
-
I am currently using benjaminsjames.wordpress.com and would like to take out the s in the middle so it’s benjaminjames.wordpress.com. I have checked who is using it and the page says the user has deleted their site and content. Is their a way I can take this name from them if they are no longer using it?
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The authors have deleted this site. You cannot register any deleted blog URL. To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and it must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click. Once the verification link for deletion is clicked the blog URL is forever gone, gone, gone.

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
