Want to use my domain name but WP says blog already exists

Hi all, Help please, staring a new blog with an old name, and I;’m trying to use my longtime domain street-trip or streettrip (WP doesn’t like hyphens) and can’t get WP.com to accept either of them when I use the form to change from the default URL “theswitchison”. Back story: I had http://www.street-trip on Posterous until 2013 when Posterous went defunct. Is that the issue, even two years later? Or, another possibility, I had street-trip hosted on Dreamhost/WP for the last 24 hrs, but decided it was too complicated and now want to use WP.com directly. I disabled the hosting at Dreamhost. I checked with Dreamhost and they have definitely disabled it. Is it a different domain because it had a hyphen? Do I have to register that one too? But, that’s not what it’s saying, it’s saying the blog already exists. Really want to get up and running. Thanks for any guidance…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Update, I may have fixed it by buying Premium and changing my nameservers at Dreamhost. Looks like I can use the domain now. Guess I had to pay for being able to use it here.

Yes, we do have to purchase an annually renewable upgrade to map to an existing domain. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
