Want WordPress to host my WordPress site but it doesn't show up on list!

I already had a web host when I discovered WordPress a few years back. GoDaddy also sold me the domain name wehearyou.net. We have a site with that name, created in WordPress, that has become buggy and lost functionality. http://wehearyou.net/

The site I would like to have at that URL looks like this:

    https://animationtestsite.wordpress.com/

After numerous tech support chats with GoDaddy, the wehearyou.net site disappeared from my list of WordPress sites. This happened within the last few days.

Had a long chat on WordPress.org about mapping new site to the hosted site and at the end the moderator told me I should read up on the differences between WordPress.org and WordPress.com.

I now realize I need to have WordPress, com host the site but when I went to purchase the hosting wehearyou.net did not show up on the list of sites…

Please help! Our nonprofit has had a crappy blog style website for the last year or two and the newly improved, far superior one cannot be seen under the URL wehearyou.net.

So, what is the WordPress.com issue we can help you with? https://animationtestsite.wordpress.com/ is up and running fine.

It’s running fine, we love it. WordPress is great. The details of premium hosting look great too.

I’d like to replace the current wehearyou.net site (hosted by GoDaddy and apparently migrated within the last few days to WordPress.org) with this one

    https://animationtestsite.wordpress.com/

but wehearyou.net, the domain name we purchased, does not show up on the list of sites we can upgrade for WordPress hosting.

What is the solution so I can have that URL hosted by WordPress with the new site mapped there?

    Thanks

    More simply:

How can I migrate the new website https://animationtestsite.wordpress.com/

    to the URL
    wehearyou.net

(recently migrated– unintentionally– to WordPress.org and hosted by GoDaddy)

and have WordPress host the new wehearyou.net site?

Let me see if I know what you actually want.

You want people to go to http://wehearyou.net and have it actually go to the site you’ve built at https://animationtestsite.wordpress.com/ is that correct? If so, the solution is the Domain Mapping Upgrade, which you can buy on the upgrades page of your dashboard.

Buying this does not migrate contents at all. That’s a different process https://support.wordpress.com/import. If you want to do both, do the import FIRST, check everything is correct, and then proceed with the upgrade.

    Raincoaster

Thanks for this reply. You got the first part of what I want– click on wehearyou.net and see animationtestsite.

I would also like to have the site wehearyou.net hosted by WordPress so I can be sure to maintain all of the functionality. I’d also like to be able to use VideoPress.

What’s the quickest way to do this?
