Wanted: Examples of blog as website

I was just wondering if anyone has any examples of a “blog as a website.” I’m looking for ideas for my sister, who wants a webpage to advertise her upcoming theater events/resume/headshots/etc but also wants a blog “section.” Your examples don’t have to be exactly what I described- just looking for ideas from people taking advantage of the “pages” feature of wp. Thanks!
