Wanted to update plan with godaddy domain name

    Hi WordPress team:

    I currently have a personal wordpress site: shashikantilager.wordpress.com
    I have my domain purchased at GoDaddy (shashikantilager.com) and redirected to this WordPress site. I want to upgrade to a personal website plan in WordPress to remove the adds and all. However, if I transfer my domain to WordPress from GoDaddy, would I get a one-year free domain facility? Since I already paid for it on GoDaddy, how does it work?

    Second, in the future can I just keep my domain with WordPress and redirect to a different site if required?

    Please let me know. It would greatly help. Thanks

    Hi @shashikantilager,

    The cost of the transfer is equal to the standard renewal cost for the domain.
