Wanting to Make a Forum, Advice?

  Hi,

  Here recently I’ve been extremely interested in creating a gaming forum of mine and am turning to the lovely wordpress community to answer questions/give advice!

  So I currently have a wordpress.com portfolio website, skisma.net. It would be nice if I could use this to host the forum, but I understand that since this is not a .org blog I cannot install forum plugins like bbpress. Also, I would not want the forum to have a domain of skisma.net, but instead something completely different.

  So me question is, is it at all possible to get this accomplished or would I have to create an entire new website? Can I transfer my portfolio skisma.net to wordpress.org? If so, can I then create a brand new domain and link it to my forum, while still being hosted from skisma.net.

  I hope this makes sense, if things aren’t clear please let me know.

  WordPress.com is blogging software, not forum software. It will not work the way you want. Have you looked at the theme P2? It is forumish.

  raincoaster, thank you for your response. I am aware that this is not possible on wordpress.com, but am asking is it possible to transfer or convert my site to .org?
