Wanting to make sure I did this right

    I registered a new domain for our wordpress.com blog. Is it common for it to really take 72 hours (over the weekend) before it shows up at the new address?

    Okay, a little more detail here for you. If anyone knows how to change the subject line of this post, I’d be grateful.

    I set up the blog for wordfountain, and because I immeditately went for the $18 upgrade to a specific domain name, somehow the wordpress.com site became “wordfountaindotnet.wordpress.com.”

    Fair enough, but I am hoping someone can tell me that I have done this correctly. Are there any other settings I need to change to make the new domain name I paid for “wordfountain.net” actually show up?

    I did the setup and payment on Saturday and when I click on “Domains” on the dashboard I get this message:

    “We are setting up wordfountain.net for you. It should start working immediately, but may be unreliable during the first 72 hours. Learn more about your new domain, or try it now.”

    I click the link for try it now and get a “server not found” error.

    I am hoping that it really will be live soon, and am probably worrying over nothing. The settings below state the following:

    “Domains
    wordfountaindotnet.wordpress.com
    Included with Site Primary Domain

    wordfountain.net
    Registered Domain”

    Update: I believe we are past the 72 hour mark. Still no change. So because of the information here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/
    I guessed (have to guess because the instructions are kinda unclear on what appears to maybe be kind of a big deal) that I had to update my domain name, “wordpress.net” to my Primary Domain.
    Still no web page found when I go to wordpress.net.
    I will give it time to the morning. But it seems like this whole process should have been a lot easier than it is.

    Correction: I am tired, above where I typed “wordpress.net,” I meant to type “wordfountain.net.”
