Wanting to merge two blogs

I have two WordPress websites on one account. I’m trying to streamline my web presence so I’d like to merge them into one website. Is there a way to do that? If not, is there a way I can import blog content from one to the other? How about image files and assets? Right now I can’t access images from one page when editing the other. Is there a way I can share my image assets between both WordPress pages in my account?

Yes, you can merge the content of the two sites.
Here’s what I suggest-
1. Select the secondary site which you don’t want to maintain from here: https://wordpress.com/sites
2. Select Settings on the left sidebar and scroll down to find Export. Export the contents of this site. This will be a XML file.
3. Select the website to which you want to do the import and import the XML file-
https://wordpress.com/settings/importYou can then set your secondary website as private. Please don’t delete it if you also want help to transfer your followers and stats.

Importing one site into the other is the only way to merge sites into each other.
As long as the site you’re exporting from is set to public, all images in that site’s media library and referenced in the posts should be imported to the new site when you import your content. The imported posts will keep their original publication dates, so they will be inserted inbetween existing posts on the target site depending on the dates.
There is no way to access the media library of one site from a different site, as there’s no link at all between different sites in your account.

You mentioned transferring followers and stats. Does that happen automatically with the export or do I need to do something else?

Hi there, transferring followers or stats isn’t something why you can do yourself. However, a WordPress.com staff member can do it for you, and I’m sure one will review this thread soon, so feel free to state if you wish for that to be done for you.
I’m not completely certain if the stats/followers of two sites can be combined or not, but I’m sure a WordPress.com staff member can clarify if that is the case or not. I just wanted to let you know it’s not something you can do yourself. :)

We can help, @mikegagnon81. Can you confirm you’re moving subscribers from gagnonwrites.wordpress.com to https://myilluminatimedia.wordpress.com/ ?
Confim whether that’s correct (or whether you wanted it the other way around — i’m basing on which site you imported into) and we’ll get those subscribers and stats moved for you.

Perfect. I’ve started the migration now, and the stats are merged. If you’d like, you can redirect one site to the other now with https://wordpress.com/domains/add/site-redirect/ — or you can just make the old site private so Google doesn’t penalize you for duplicate content.
