Wanting to move my site to your much better looking platform!
-
Hello, I currently have my website through jigsy.com which I think is a part of Viviti? It really sucks. lol. Every time I google around for how to get something done on my site I find guides for how to do things with wordpress. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to code things on my own in HTML. Anyways. I’d really like to move my site to WordPress and sign up for the professional/business plan but I want to make sure I will be able to transfer my site. Do you know if that is possible? I looked around on the forums and cant find anything specifically about jigsy. Is there a way maybe I could get access to the pro account for a day to see if I can transfer it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

does it make any difference that I am trying to transfer a whole website rather than a blog? Is there really no way to contact anyone at the company directly about this?

No it will not make any difference. Unless you can get an XML export file of the content (themes cannot be imported) you will not succeed.
Does the site have an RSS feed? That could be a dim hope on the horizon.
I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Also subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. Hi there,
You can only transfer your content here, i.e. posts and/or pages. You won’t be able to transfer your entire site including the appearance, database files, etc.
But you can definitely use WordPress.com to set up a regular website, instead of a blog.
Build Your Website in Five Steps
You’ll need to ask your current host for a .xml export file of your content. If they don’t have anything like that, you’ll need to find a service that lets you import an RSS feed, and then export a .xml file from there which you can import here.
Do you have a custom domain with your site as well? We can’t accept incoming domain transfers, so you’ll need to leave the domain at the current provider, and connect it here using the domain mapping upgrade included in all our plans.
