You must be logged in under the username account that registered the site first. Then to empty the site content and start over using the same URL ie. blog address you have two options:
    (1) Doing this quickly and easily yourself http://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/
    (2) Waiting in a queue and having Staff do it for you.

Staff can empty the whole blog for you. That will remove all data including posts, pages, tags, categories, comments, and uploaded files and once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.

If you are sure you want Staff to proceed, and you are prepared to wait then type modlook into the tags in the sidebar of this thread for Staff attention, and post here again to:
    (1) confirm the URL of the blog you want them to empty;
    (2) confirm that you know content deletion is irreversible.

Every theme has a detailed theme description page with set-up instructions and a live demo site. Here’s an example of the detailed theme description page here https://wordpress.com/themes/penscratch/ and a live demo site here https://penscratchdemo.wordpress.com/

Switching themes can be easily done, provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do a lot of work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme with different features and/or if you have done any CSS editing.

Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.

The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.

The URL of the blog I want moderators to empty is: sellerbridge.wordpress.com

I would like to keep my URL, but start a fresh with a new template.

I confirm that i know content deletion is irreversible.

    Thank you

Thanks for this, is there any way for me to copy all the pages and content from a new theme at all? I am now without pages at all but i just want to be able to edit the full features of a new theme..?

  • @sellerbridge, I think I’m not following you in this. Do you mean taking all the code out of a theme that is not in our theme repository?

@stefmattana Hi, sorry I was a little vague. What I mean is- I’m wanting to use the ‘shoreditch’ free theme, but when I click on it and go to customise, I don’t get all the pages and content that the theme has. Is there any way for me to copy the theme as its shown in the demo so I can add my own changes to that? I’m only a beginner, so if I could get away without having to create all my content from scratch it would be a big help. Can I just copy the HTML code from the demo somehow?

Hopefully that made sense, if you need any clarification please let me know

  • @sellerbridge, thanks for the clarification, it all much makes sense now :)

You need to work a little bit on the layout customisation, mainly by accessing your Customization area and explore all the areas you can edit. The Shoreditch theme has a documentation page you can have a look at:

    https://wordpress.com/themes/shoreditch/

If you have any questions you’re welcome to open a topic here in the forum, contact us via email and browse our support documentation at this page:

I hope you find this information useful. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with :)
