Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found.

Hi all – I’ve seen a few replies on this but I’m not sure if they cover what’s hapenning for my site.
I started yesterday on wordpress.com but then switched to HostGator so I could install WordPress.org (I wanted to host myself and gain access to plugins etc.)
The problem I have is that I’m getting the message below when I try to log in to the site:
Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.
…but when I try to login, it logs me in to the .com version of WordPress – not the current .org version of where I got up to with the site last night
Any ideas?

If it helps – my username (emailed to me by WordPress) is : whatsyouroutcomesean
That username no longer seems to be accepted on the login screen – and my email address ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) links to the older wordpress.com account (which I’d like to delete but I’m worried I’ll delete the work I did last night on my hosted site with hostgator)
