Warning message appears when visiting my site, Domain mapping set up properly?

The warning message in quotes below appears when I type “girloutofthecity.com” into my browser. The site loads correctly when it’s typed as “girloutofthecity.wordpress.com”

I have paid for the domain mapping upgrade and selected the girloutofthecity.com address as my primary address. I am worried visitors to my site will not continue and that I am losing readers because of this. What can I do to stop this message from appearing?

WARNING “This is probably not the site you are looking for!
You attempted to reach girloutofthecity.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as *.wordpress.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of girloutofthecity.com. You should not proceed.”
    Blog url: http://girloutofthecity.wordpress.com/

  • That’s actually a bit normal when you try to access the Dashboard, or navigate away from it.

We use an SSL certificate to secure your connection, but SSL certificates need to be signed to a specific domain, in this case wordpress.com.

So, what the error means is that you’re connecting to girloutofthecity.com, but the connection claims to be wordpress.com, which in this case is just fine.

There should be a “dismiss” or “permanently store exception” button depending on your browser.
