“Warning” under boxes on contact form
-

Screenshot Wondering why the word “warning” is showing up under the boxes for my contact form—and, for that matter, why it has “your message has been sent “and “go back” at the top, as if someone has already submitted a comment when they’ve just clicked onto the page. I can’t find anything on the back end that I can identify as a cause of this, and no edits I try to make have helped. Thoughts, anyone? Thanks in advance!

It appears your contact form is currently stuck in a “cached” submission state, which is why the “Your message has been sent” and “Go back” prompts are appearing prematurely. This often happens when a caching plugin or a server-side optimization tool saves a static snapshot of the page immediately after a successful test entry. Additionally, the “Warning” text appearing under your boxes is likely an accessibility label for error messages that should remain hidden until a field is left blank, but a CSS conflict is causing them to display by default. To resolve this, try purging your site’s cache through your hosting dashboard or the “Purge All” option in your admin toolbar; if the labels remain, you can hide them by adding .grunion-field-label span { display: none; } to your Additional CSS section.

Hi @gracetheologyblog, I know how frustrating that issue must be for you, and I’m here to help.
I confirmed the form’s unexpected behaviour on your Contact page.
Sometimes, issues like that could be caused by a code conflict from the active theme. To check if that’s the case here, could you temporarily check the form’s behaviour with a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-Five?
If you’re unsure of how to go about that, you may follow the quick steps in this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/plugins/troubleshooting/#step-1-switch-to-a-default-wordpress-theme
Please let me know how it goes, or if anything seems unclear.
I look forward to sorting that out with you.

@israelmartinsrt The issue was indeed resolved when I switched to a default theme, and it came back when I tried switching back to the Libretto theme. What should I do next?
