Was charged for renewing Domain service one month early

  I recently noticed that two of my WP sites (blog.joshrachner.com and blog.allbouttexas.com) were charged for the renewal of Domain service – since I am hosting through WP. The renewal was supposed to be June 12, but they both charged for renewal May 12. I had all intentions of pulling the sites off WP and self-hosting to avoid this annual fee. Can someone help me understand why this could have happened and who to talk to about refunding the charges?
