way to track downloaded files?

I have some pdfs, hosted by wordpress, up on my blog. These do show up in the ‘clicks’ section when someone clicks them, but I am wondering if WordPress provides any way to track the overall downloads of these files over time, or just a total (or something similar to the little graphs for ‘top posts’). ‘Clicks’ may not even be an accurate measurement of downloads, since the smartest people probably aren’t just clicking, but right-clicking, which I’d think doesn’t register as a ‘click.’

Nope. There is no way to track it as far as I know.

This would be a really nice feature to add to the stats for pdfs, however i cant see anyway this is possible.
If someone were to open a pdf file in a browser using acrobat reader; then save it to their computer,… It may never result may never register as hit on the origional page.

I agree, this would be a great feature to have. I want to have downloadable features on one of my sites as well, it would be great to be able to see how many times or ever who downloaded what.

Although not perfect, you can always use the “Clicks” section in the stats. Works for me.
