    Oh my oh my … great question. I believe you will have to ask Staff directly to get an answer. Here’s the link > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

    When you do get an answer will you please return to this thread and share it with us so we have it on hand for the next person who asks?

    Open the edition page of the post you want to Like.
    Click on Preview Changes.
    Then the “Like” is available for your own post, click it.

    But, about improving stats, I think it doesn’t.

    @ tt: Do you think it can be? There aren’t notice about it, then should be not.?

    I don’t use and I don’t know so that’s why I referred the member to Staff. That being said, I’m definitely interested in hearing the answer that Staff provides with regard to (1) being able to”like” one’s own posts and if that’s possible (2) the effect that would or would not have on their stats.

    I’ll add to this discussion if I may.

    I use the “like” button in a couple of ways:
    1. When I’m writing a post that refers to past posts on my blog, I will “like” them so I can see a llink-able list to them instead of going off to textedit or bookmarking them or having half a million tabs open. When I’m done, click-click and the posts are back to normal.
    2. I’ll “like” other people’s posts if I have a temporary interest in something they wrote, not enough to subscribe and add to the congestion of my in-boxes, just curious but don’t want a bookmark I won’t recognize a month from now.

    I was under the impression that stats are not counted on your own blog whenever you are logged in, so my visits to my own posts won’t add to the stats. My visits to the others probably count…

    I did “Like” one of my own post before answering, but in a private blog, it’s possible. Stats didn’t change. (I was mistaking with rankings, in searchers, etc)

    @Tess
    My information is the same as yours and my assumption regarding the stats is the same as well. :) Isn’t the bottom line here that the member has to contact Staff to get a definitive answer?

    @timethief

    Yes, that is correct. OP should contact staff with the question!

    I was not disputing anything about contacting Support for definitive answers.

    I thinking that there may be other uses for this “like” button than the rather simple rating system it implies. If I “like” someone else’s post, then remove it, that person has one fewer “like’ number. But I have found some use for it as a tool for myself for a couple of days/or a week.

    Hey, Tess I knew you weren’t disputing … lol :)
    I just didn’t want the OP to forget she still had to contact Staff.

    I just wanted to answer to “how come I can LIKE my own posts”. Before publishing I saw the tt’s response, but I didn’t want to discuss.

    Kind regards for all.

    I don’t see what point it makes: you can submit your own posts to Digg too, if you want. It won’t have any effect on stats whatsoever.

    “Submitted!
    Thank you! Your bits are flying through cyberspace towards us as you read this. We’ll get back to you ASAP.”

    I`ll keep you posted, tt :)

    Hey :) Answer received:

    Currently this is how it’s meant to be. The like feature on facebook and other social media services works the same way. Hopefully you do like the things you write!

    If you feel strange about it, then don’t do it. One vote won’t make much of a difference either way in the grand scheme of your traffic and ratings.
