we all need close or back button for images PLEASE

when an image is clicked and displayed in media file or attachment page there must be a close or back button so any reader can close the image and go back to the post/page/gallery or wherever he was previously. this is basic functionality, should be a wordpress built in option/feature, I know some themes out there features it, but come on, close/back buttons are always standard navigation feature everywhere across the web.

thanks, looking forward for this update hopefully soon.

  • Why not just use the back button in your browser? Backspace on the keyboard also works.

that’s correct, obviously works in did …not the classiest way to go around though, it also happens that some browsers refresh the whole page and that’s not always desirable for us, not to mention that CHROME (mobile), for instance, hides the browser’s navigation bar when scrolling down a page and it is only displayed again when scrolling back up, besides, we often like to feature a fixed or floating navigation menu atop of the website, and it would make more sense to close/back contents displayed below via a button accordingly located, instead of “jumping up” to the browser navigation commands, it is called logical hierarchy. bottom line the browser’s own button do the job, but there is a proper way modern and refined websites manage to provide the user with that option, and we are talking about a simple button, definitely easy attainable for wordpress engineers and developers.

    keep it up
