we CAN'T MAKE SUBDOMAINS!
-
My brother and I are trying to make a sub-domain for ThePodcaste.com to only show posts tagged ‘MUSICSHOW’:
https://thepodcaste.com/category/musicshow/Simple enough concept, right?
you go to music.thepodcaste.com and you see all our music related posts… except no. The website will not let us do that.We go to ‘Domains’ DNS Records and we try to add the subdomain and the target and it does nothing.
Please fix this and let us have music.thepodcaste.com direct to https://thepodcaste.com/category/musicshow/
thanks,

Map a subdomain (for a domain with an existing website) to your WordPress.com blog – if you already have a website you don’t want to affect, and you want to add a blog to it under a subdomain (for example, blog.yourgroovydomain.com).

Hi there,
You cannot map just one category on your existing site to its own subdomain. WordPress.com doesn’t work like that. If you want your podcasts to be on their own subdomain you first need to create a new WordPress.com site, and publish your podcasts on that site.
Then you need to purchase a paid plan for that site so you can map it to a subdomain of the domain you own.

I don’t think you understand what we’re doing.
We own Thepodcaste.com
We’ve created music.thepodcaste.com
We want to send music.thepodcaste.com to
https://thepodcaste.com/category/musicshow/Shouldn’t be a hard concept. I could do it in 2 minutes on GoDaddy or brinkster.

I understand exactly what you’re trying to do, and it’s not possible. You cannot make https://thepodcaste.com/category/musicshow/ show at music.thepodcaste.com. WordPress.com does not work like that.
On GoDaddy you can do it, because there you can edit your .htaccess file to create this kind of redirect. On WordPress.com it cannot be done.
