Can you please explain what you mean by an authentication issue?
The account you’re using to post here is not a user on that site. To make changes to that site you need to be logged in as an account that’s been added to the site.
Also please note that 24/7 WP Support has no affiliation whatsoever with either WordPress.com or the open source WordPress project on WordPress.org. Please do not pay that service for help with your WordPress.com site – this forum for free users, the Help link in the WordPress mobile apps, and WordPress.com email and live chat support for owners of paid plans are the only official support channels to get help with a WordPress.com site.

We are two accounts on wordpress. Because I can’t log into the other account, I have to use this account to post my question. I am not trying to make changes to that site, I need to use the username and password to log into that site. advertorial4dwretest.wordpress.com. I have been using (email visible only to moderators and staff) to log in in the past, but it’s no longer working somehow. We really need this to be resolved ASAP as we have many instances trying to log in and retrieve information from that site. Please call me at [redacted] if possible to troubleshoot and possibly upgrade to a paid account so that we can get better support.

You’ve mentioned a few different sites owned by different accounts:
advertorial4dwretest.wordpress.com – as advertorial4dwretest you should already have access to this one.
advertorial4dwre.wordpress.com – if you’ll log out and log in as user advertorialreader, you should have access. If you’re getting an error when you try to log in, can you send us that? Also, you can reset the password if needed.
Noting, we don’t have a call center, so please avoid posting your phone number here. We don’t want people to call you pretending to be us. I’ve redacted the number for you.

In the past, we have been using email to log in. So WordPress stopped allowing to use email to log in recently? -
We have not stopped allowing use of email, no. If you used the correct email and was then asked for a username, it means our system flagged the login as possibly suspicious, and just required the username as additional verification.
The next time you log in you should be able to log in with your email address again as usual.
