We need a little new feature

Sometimes the amount of spam is indescribable and must be deleted several times a day. I always go over the list so that I can fish the comments out of the spam list.
But if I go away on holiday and don’t blog for a couple of weeks, the job will have grown to inhuman dimensions when I get back.
That is why I think, we need the possibility to delete spam page by page. As it is now we have to go over all pages at once because if you hit the delete button all pages go at the same time. This means that you can’t take a break.
My bad scrolling arm will suffer even more, if I have to scroll for hours in order to check the spam list after a vacation. It might actually be a question of up to nearly a hundred pages.
So please: could we have a feature that allows us to delete spam page by page? Then we can divide the deleting-job into smaller periods and that will make the task more human. Please?

Not too bad of a suggestion! Make sure you let staff know through the “support” button in your admin, the “support” tab in these forums or an email to support@ wordpress.com so they recieve your suggestion!

I personally “browse” the spam filter every once in awhile, but I have noticed very few comments trapped. For the work it takes, I find it easier to have people email me saying their comment didn’t appear, but if your option was in there, I might look at it closer (most likely not ;)

yes i’d prefer a delete by page option, or something like check all spam on one page & we could uncheck the one/two comments found on the page before deleting the rest of the spam, like how the system works in e-mail.

The spam filter is very helpful. It works really well. There are only a few mistakes.
However it is only fair to people, that we check the spam list for comments. None-bloggers do not always know, why their comment did not show. It makes a person sad, if his/hers writings is not on the blog. They took the time to engage and they do not know, what they did wrong. They speculate and feel wounded. They sometimes write that, when they try again…

It’s an excellent suggestion. I can feel up to reviewing a few pages here and there while waiting for YouTubes to load, but tackling all or nothing is just overwhelming.
