We need to delete a website or somehow get access to edit the information

    https://usadeafhistorymn2016.wordpress.com was set up by someone who either cannot remember or will not respond to MULTIPLE requests to change information. Since the email address was not set up correctly we cannot edit or get into change the site. We do not have any of the information, but the persons the website are about can be verified and contacted. Where do we start to either get access to update or get this site deleted?

    Hi there, each site on WordPressdotcom has a single owner and that is the person who registered the site here. In order to remove or change information on the site or delete the site, you will need to contact that person.

    If the site owner has lost their login information, they can start the account recovery process here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

    WordPressdotcom will not contact the site owner for you or hand over a site to a different individual, delete a site or change information appearing on a site.

    Having said that, there are circumstances where WPcom may remove a site for legal reasons. Please see the following policy guidelines:

    Hi there,

    Just to confirm what @justjennifer said, only the user who owns that site can delete, or otherwise make changes to it. We will not transfer a site to another user under any circumstances unless at the request of the current owner. The current owner will either need to contact us while logged into their account, or from the email address they used to create the account.

    We will only delete a site belonging to someone else if that site violates our terms, or if we receive a valid US court order, as explained at the links above. Please use the form on the Report Blogs page to report the site if you believe this site is violating our terms, and our Terms of Service staff will look into it.
