  we want to use our domain hotcocoarun.org – will there be an extra fee for word press or where our domain is held, once we create our site and direct to this domain? thank you

  Hello,
  You have two options to use your current domain with your WordPress.com website: domain mapping and domain transferring.

  With domain mapping, you point your domain to your WordPress.com website but you would still need to pay your registrar every year to keep it active, and you would also need to pay a domain mapping subscription every year.   If you want to manage both your domain and your website you may want to consider transferring it instead; that way, you would pay WordPress.com for hosting and domain, and you wouldn’t need to pay a domain mapping instead.   Both options need to have an active paid plan (Personal or higher) to be used.

  No, there won’t be an extra fee for a mapped domain, but you will continue the payment plan for the domain with its current registrar.

  If you wish to transfer your domain to WordPress.com so that you can manage all aspects of your website from one place, then you will need an upgraded WordPress account such as Personal, Premium or Business.
