We seriously need a way to host giveaways…

Let me say this first, sure, you can just host a giveaway and choose by comments, but that is the worst way in my opinion…
Why don’t we have some kind of plugin to host giveaways? I think wp.com could design a plugin, or they could cooperate with rafflecopter or any other popular giveaway service.
I think we don’t have a serious option currently to host giveaways, which is quite sad.

Hi time, I saw this post back then, I am subscribed and read the dailypost, but it didn’t offer any handy solution to host giveaways.
I still think we need some tools for this, so that we can set requirements for the entries… sharing, following and so on. Also the whole process would be way easier than telling the people to name a number, and to sort the winner out via random.org… it’s unhandy.
I never heard about inlinkz, I will now check this out and see if this is an option for me. But, my suggestion still stands… we need tools to host giveways,

I hear you and I know many other bloggers will agree with you because this is not the first request of this nature.
To be 100% honest I am different. I am old school. I refuse to follow any blog that hosts either blog hops or giveaways of any kind. The whole notion of bribing people repels me.

It’s not that I would want to do this on a wide scale… it’s just…
I am PC gamer, I buy a lot of PC game bundles, but since these are game bundles that include different games, I often buy it for one particular game, and it happens that I have the others already registered on my game accounts… result: I have a big list of game keys, duplicated basically, games that I own already and don’t need anymore, games that cost something, I could delete them, but I could also give them away and someone could enjoy the games too,..
I’d like to give them away, I just don’t want that only a few are possible to notice it… I think asking for sharing so that others can enter too, is just fair, but imo not possible at wp.com.
I guess I am like you, I don’t follow pure giveaway blogs,and I don’t hunt for giveaways, however, I follow certain gaming related magazines, they host giveaways once in a month or once every few months, it happens. Giveaways have promotional value, but I also just don’t want to trash digital good worth hundreds of dollars. I see your point… but if you don’t go over the top with giveaways, they can be a fair trade for everyone. I’d like to host them once in a month or once every few months.

I read your response and smiled. I am so old school that I don’t play computer games and never buy raffle or lottery tickets. You could say I’m immune to all promotional attempts of all kinds too and I hate to see any advertising on blogs.
