I have been getting this error for over a week.

I use WP 3.2.1 and Jetpack 1.2.2. Firefox and Chrome.on Win Vista 32 with the site hosted on GoDaddy.

I upgraded to Jetpack 2 or 3 weeks ago. The stats worked for a week, after I fixed a password problem. I’ve deactivated and re-activated. Still not working.

I have a WordPress.com account from my original blog (Nalates.wordpress.com) that I have forwarding to blog.Nalates.net. If I log into admin at nalates.wordpress.com I see the same stats error.

    Help please.

    Thx Nalates
    Blog url: http://nalates.wordpress.com/

  • It looks like your Site Redirect may have an issue. It’s set for blog.nalates.net/, but try changing that to blog.nalates.net (without the trailing slash).

I just changed it… removed the /. I’ll give it a day and try again. But, for now I get the same error with the additional information:

@blog.nalates.net = Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:Hosting4591565htmlnalateswp-includesclass-http.php on line 1105

@Nalates.wordpress.com = No states available for this period.

I also see: RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Recv failure: Connection was reset @blog.nat…

    Thanks for the suggestion macmanx

  • You’ll need to contact your hosting provider about that error. There should be no reason for that file to ever reach your server’s maximum execution time.

This morning that error is gone. I now only get the simple: We were unable to get your stats just now. Please try again.

I notice the other error too: RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Recv failure: Connection was reset.

I am seeing updates to the blog appear in Google Reader’s info. But, there is no RSS info in WP.

  • Unknown's avatar

I probably should have written… there is no RSS info appearing on the Admin page of blog.nalates.net

Hm, I’m able to see the stats for blog.nalates.net from the Global Dashboard on WordPress.com. Are you still running into this problem?

Can you let me know where exactly you’re seeing the RSS error?

  • Unknown's avatar

In the Site Stats panel on the Dashboard page I still get: We were unable to get your stats just now. Please try again. The same on the Jetpack’s Site Stats page.

Another panel on the Dashboard is titled: WordPress Blog. In that panel I get the error: RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Recv failure: Connection was reset.

  • So, you have both Jetpack and WordPress.com Stats installed?

If so, you’ll need to deactivate both, delete WordPress.com Stats, then reactivate Jetpack.

  • Unknown's avatar

No… just Jetpack. I deactivated and uninstalled WordPress Stats. My Jetpack stats worked for a week or more after the Jetpack install and WordPress States removal.

  • Can you try temporarily deactivating all other plugins and switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule-out a plugin or theme conflict?

  • Unknown's avatar

With all the plugins deactivated and the 20-11 theme active… I have both the same errors.

I am assuming Jetpack was to remain install and active. But as a test I deactivated it and later reactivated it. It did not seem to make any difference.

    Go Daddy is no help.

  • Could you please install our test/debugging plugin?

You can get the ZIP file at: http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/jetpack/branches/jetpack-compatibility-test.zip

You can install it by doing the following.
    1. Go to your Admin → Plugins
    2. Click the “Add New” button (near the top of the page)
    3. Click the “Upload” link (near the top of the page).
    4. Upload the ZIP file you just downloaded from the above link.
    5. WordPress will take you through an installation procedure.

If that fails, you can unzip the ZIP file and upload the results directly to your host using FTP (or whatever your hosts recommends).

After installing and Activating the plugin,
    1. Go to Admin → Plugins → Jetpack Compatibility TEST
    2. The page may take a bit to load. It will output a bunch of ugly looking debug information.
    3. Click the “Select All” button.
    4. Copy the selected text.
    5. Send all that text you copied to support using the form at http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

Today I have my stats and the WordPress Blog RSS feed is working.

I never got an email. But, as long as it works, I’m happy.
