  You type in changing a blog address and click the search link
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=changing+a+blog+address
  Then you find the result and navigate to it http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

  Changing a blog address is permanent and irreversible.

  So if I want to change my current free ****.wordpress, I cannot?

  I need to start a new profile then?

  You didn’t comprehend what you read in the support docs so here’s another version.

  You cannot edit any URL. If you want to change the .wordpress.com blog address ie. the URL starting with http:// to another .wordpress.com blog address, then you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to do that, and the URL you desire must be available. If so then you can change the URL by using this guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/ Note that the change is permanent and irreversible.
