Web address already taken, yet blog in question is deleted

  Wanted blog address is somethingobscene.wordpress.com, and site indicates that the address is already taken. Yet, somethingobscene.wordpress.com was deleted by the administrator of the site. Can I have that domain name?

  It’s not possible to register a deleted blog URL as deleted blog URL are not recycled and cannot be reused by anyone.

  What you can do is purchase your own domain name via a domain mapping upgrade as it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com blog URL is when you map a domain name to it http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/
