Web address change and Reader

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello there:

I recently changed my web address, which went smoothly for the most part, but my last post didn’t show in the Reader feed. Is there a glitch or something or did I do something wrong?

I kept the old site and didn’t bother changing my username.
The new web address is https://zezeewithbooks.wordpress.com/

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ok, I did not receive a response to this. I guess there’s no way for it to be clarified to me…?
I had to re-add my blog to once again see the post show up in my Reader. Will this be the same for all my followers?

You shouldn’t have to re-publish a post to see it show up in the Reader. I’m not sure what happen to the last post, but can you watch out for problems with future publications and reply back here if you see the same problem happen again? I’m hoping it was a temporary problem or glitch and that it won’t happen again anyway. If it does, just post back here with more information such as the post title and date/time you published.

Thanks for replying to me. I didn’t republish the post. What I did was re-follow my blog and then I was able to see a new post I published show in my Reader.

I’m assuming that those who followed me before I changed my web address/URL are unable to see my new posts as well in their Reader.

    Hello again,

So there’s something odd going on with my blog. The background changed back to an old background. I did not change it. When I tried to replace the pattern that was there before, it didn’t allow me to do so. Can you please tell me what’s going on?

It looks okay on my Ipad but on Firefox and Chrome, it’s the old background.

I noticed that you are in preview mode in the Customize section. In that view, you can preview how some of the paid features work before buying them. The paid features include things like custom backgrounds, custom fonts, and a CSS editor. If you are in this mode, then you will be able to preview different backgrounds but they will not show live on your site unless you purchase one of the WordPress.com plans.

To get out of preview mode, go to the following link, click Colors & Backgrounds, then click the “exit the preview” link.

After you do that, you will see the features available on a free plan.
