Web Address is Not Public

I am wondering why I cannot type in my website and have it show up. I’m not sure what is wrong, but I do not have it set as private…it just says that there is no web address with that name.

Did you purchase the domain name/mapping upgrade for theoneillapple.com when you signed up on WordPressdotcom?
If you already own the domain name theoneillapple.com did you purchase domain mapping separately?

I had previously owned the name with WordPress last year, but it expired. I logged back in, repurchased and it worked…however, I had the .com attached to the wrong WordPress “site” and so I cancelled my order and then reordered again, requesting to domain map. Under “Domains” it says that the .com is a “mapped domain” and that it is the primary domain. Under “Purchases” it says that “domain mapping” is included with the plan.

I am looking through my receipts…it looks like I had my domain name purchase refunded to me when I started over, when I did not want that. So, I have paid for domain mapping of a domain I guess I do not own. How do I repurchase the domain?

I have cancelled everything out, because WordPress will not let me purchase the domain name when I have already purchased the “renewal” plan. This is nutso. After I have been reimbursed, I will try to start the whole thing over again.

I gave you a refund for your domain mapping, because you don’t need to pay, since you have the Premim plan.
Now we can start again, I changed the primary domain of your site until we get this resolved. Is it this WordPress.com site “theoneillapple.wordpress.com” you want to have the custom domain “theoneillapple.com”?

Yes, carinapilar. That is what I wanted to happen. I’m not sure where things stand as of now. I cancelled my account, but it looks like ( as you said) that I was only refunded the domain mapping.

I am assuming this is because you are trying to get my domain name back, “theoneillapple.com”…this is ultimately what I am trying to achieve. I would like to have the domain name back and my site restored so I can move forward. I just wanted that domain attached to the “theoneillapple.wordpress.com” instead of some other “my site.” Does this make sense? Let me know if there is anything else that I need to do. Thank you!

@theoneillapple, I found that this is happening because you registered and cancelled your domain. I deleted from your account now. You have to register it again. To do that you have to login with your WordPress.com account, go to My Sites and select the site “theoneillapple.wordpress.com”. Then click on Domains and add “theoneillapple.com”.
