Web app changed from Pacific to East Coast time. How to change back to Pacific?

Recently the web app showing ‘My Sites’ changed from Pacific time to East coast time. My sites are all set to Pacific time. How do I change the web app back to Pacific time?
Note that the WordPress desktop app is still functioning on Pacific time.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Correct.
My sites are all self hosted. I am not referring to the sites themselves but rather to the web app. The page found at https://wordpress.com/stats/day that shows the current stats for all the sites that are connected through Jetpack, and through which I choose the help option which opened this forum.

    Hi again!
So for the Self Hosted Site the Stats Page, which shows the time, is not showing the Correct Time? In the dashboard is showing Eastern Coast Time and you are based in the Pacific Coast?
Also, possibly just share a Screen Shot use this guideline, https://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/

Also, let us know which device and browser are you using.
And send it over, so we can have a closer look and get the needful done.
    Hope to hear soon.

Thank you, The stats page is not on and individual self hosted site but on the web app for WordPress. Yes, showing Eastern time instead of Pacific time, USA. The individual self hosted sites are all set to Pacific time and they are fine when I go into them. Browser if Firefox on Windows 7. Here is a screenshot to show you an example.

It looks like the image did not come over in the email. You may see it here:

    Hi again!

As your site Stats is connected via Jetpack , I am tagging the staff to help you further.
Please be patient with them, someone will revert you back soon.

  • Hi there,

The screen shot you provided does not show any times or timezone settings. That just shows the All Sites stats view for June 16.

Additionally, there is no timezone setting for the “web app” as you call it. Time zones are set per site, and as you have self-hosted sites that would be in Settings ->General in the WP-Admin dashboard.

But your browser uses your operating system’s time zone settings, so if you see a mismatch between the time appearing on your site or in the editor, and the actual time where you are, please check that your computer time zone settings are the same as that for your individual sites. We do not control either of those.

    Thank you for your response.
Correct, it is the All Sites stats view that changes to all zeros for all sites at 9PM pacific time. Computer is set to pacific time. Individual websites are set to pacific time.
It has been showing correctly up until last week.
If I go into each individual site stats view between 9PM and 12AM pacific time the individual site stats view shows the correct information. It is only the All Sites stats view that does not show correctly.
I downloaded the WordPress app for windows 7 and when that runs it shows the correct information – therefore I believe it is the web version that has something that may not be working correctly.

  • So the day stat for an individual site does not match the day stat for the same site if you use the All Sites view? Is that what you’re saying?

I’m not able to replicate that at all. Can you please check if it’s specific to only one browser, or does it happen in different browsers on your computer?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Correct.
At 9PM pacific time the All Sites view changes to zeros and the next day’s date. The individual day stats keep showing correctly and switch over to zeros at midnight.
I will test this in a different browser tonight.

So today (June 19) the All Sites view switched to June 20 at 6PM pacific time.
Tested in Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer.

  • So now it happened at a different time? That is extremely unlikely. If it were an issue with the stats page it would consistently happen at the same time each day, and it would be happening for everyone.

How do you know it changed at exactly that time? How are you tracking this?

Can you also check if the same happens on a different computer?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, it seemed to happen at a different time. Unlikely as that might be. I am unsure if it were exactly at 6PM – that is just the time I noticed when I looked and it had not changed a few minutes before.
From your statements I gather that I am the only one experiencing this issue that you know of and that you are having some difficulty believing me. Let me know if there is another course of action that you would like me to do for you.

Tonight (June 20) I checked at 7:20 pm on Safari on an iphone and it also has switched over to June 21 for the stats view. When I go into the individual website stats they are still on June 20.

  • I believe you that it’s happening, but without the ability to consistently reproduce the issue there’s no way to confirm a bug and track down the cause.

Please go through all your sites in turn via My Sites. Click on Settings, and with Jetpack Sync select the Full Sync option. It could be the site settings aren’t properly synced with Jetpack, causing a mismatch somewhere along the line, so let’s rule that out.

I also see some of your sites are not on the newest version of the WordPress software. Please see if updating those make any difference.
