Web Design for current WP theme

    Hi there,

    I have had someone re-design my wordpress site and the designer is asking me for the FTP credentials. I researched and realized that WP doesn’t support FTP. How can I have the new design uploaded to my website without losing my information and keeping my website with wordpress.

    I have a .com website that I purchased thru WP.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    The short form is: you can’t.

    The long form is, you need to tell your designer that in WordPress.com you can ONLY tweak the CSS, not the php, and that your ability to change the CSS is entirely dependent on having the Custom Design upgrade. It’s quite possible that you’ve paid the designer for something you cannot use with your current host. Ask them. If they’re clever they’ll know the difference between WP.com and WP.org and be able to modify what they’ve done, but they might have to start over from scratch.

    Note that buying a custom domain name changes nothing about your blog except the URL.

    Seriously?? They new from the beginning I was using wordpress.com so not sure what is going on. So there is no other way around it?
