Web Development and Website Building

    I’m mostly aiming this question at existing Web Devs.

    My goal is to start building WordPress sites ASAP. I’m working through WordPress’s resource section and have done the “Getting Started” tutorial as well as the “Create Your Site” tutorial. Other than CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and php, what other technologies should I have some understanding of before I begin?

    I’d say the 2 most important things to understand besides the types of files/code you can encounter, would be an understanding of DNS and hosting, and an understanding of SEO, to make sure that traffic is reaching you properly.

    LinkedIn Learning is an awesome resource where you can also find courses about all sorts of things, even wordpress specific, but for all web development as well! Many library programs include access to these courses! I’d suggest reaching out to your library in your area as well, to see if they offer anything like that!
