    I just purchased hosting through hostgator, I need to delete my free website or can I merge it with my new account?

    Hi Janell,

    I hope you are having a nice day! Since you have purchased new hosting you have to use the self hosted version of WordPress. But I am afraid to inform you that WP.com and self hosted WordPress are two different entities. Here you can learn the difference between self hosted WordPress and WP.com.

    Also check this tutorial about how to delete your site. Before deleting your blog make sure you read this awesome tutorial about how to export your existing contents so that import in your new blog.
