Hi there,
Nerdycharmer.com is a site hosted with GoDaddy and uses open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org).
They’re very similar, but two separate things.

I am just confused. Up until May our site was running well. Then all of a sudden it was not. GoDaddy said they are not the web host and before I go with them to check to be sure WordPress is not the host so I am not double paying. I cannot figure out who our host was and why it stopped. I am just taking over this and have very limited knowledge about all this stuff.

You havea site here. https://pharrchapelumc.wordpress.com/
The .org domain was registered (still is) at GoDaddy. But if you have a Jetpack plugin it indicates the custom domain pointed to a site somewhere other that here.
Or did you once have a paid plan here that has expired? This trhread is tagged for staff assistance. -

Hi there,
Our volunteers have already answered your question :)
The site at https://pharrchapelumc.org/ is not hosted here on WordPress.com. That site is connected to your WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin, but your domain is registered at GoDaddy.com, and your site is also hosted on their servers.
You haven’t paid us for any services via the
youthpharrchapelumcorgaccount you used to post here, and the pharrchapelumc.org domain has never been registered with us, or hosted on our servers. There is a WordPress.com site, https://pharrchapelumc.wordpress.com/, but that site belongs to a completely different username account, and has no link at all to the site at https://pharrchapelumc.org/ aside from having the same name.
If your site at https://pharrchapelumc.org/ is not loading, you need to contact GoDaddy support for help getting it back online, as we don’t have any control at all over that site.

It could have been under a different account email address. I changed the email when I took over. There is not another Pharr Chapel UMC in the US so the WordPress site you are seeing https://pharrchapelumc.wordpress.com must be ours as well. Other email addresses could have been: (email visible only to moderators and staff) or (email visible only to moderators and staff)
I just don’t get why our site was up and running prior to May and now is not and GoDaddy has no record of hosting.
Is there no way to speak to a person live? My number is {phone removed}.

For what it’s worth, that site has not been updated for over 3 years. So I doubt that it is what you were using recently.

Neither of those are associated with the WordPress.com account that owns pharrchapelumc.wordpress.com.

As far as I can see from sites like https://completedns.com/dns-history/ the domain pharrchapelumc.org has had GoDaddy nameservers since Aug 2019. Not, those DNS history sites aren’t perfect, but along with the other clues, it all points to the fact that GoDaddy is who you need to reach out to in this situation.

WordPress.com does not offer support over the phone. But even if we were on the phone, I’m afraid the answer would be the same. All we can tell you is that we have no record of that domain every being registered or hosted here at WordPress.com. All signs point to it being a site built with the open source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) and hosted elsewhere.
I sympathize with the frustration you are feeling, but we can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. We have no access to data or files for sites that are hosted elsewhere.
