web link and preview are different?

    I have created my blog but what I preview and what you see when you visit the web address the layouts are completely different. What do I need to do to get what I’m seeing in preview site on the actual web address?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    As we forum volunteers cannot see what you see in a Preview window, could you please take a screenshot of what you see in the Preview window and post a link to it here, along with a link to the final published post?

    Hi,

    Without seeing your screenshot it’s a little difficult to be 100% of what you are asking but I have a feeling I know what you mean as it has happened to me many times… Especially when using aligned images or have complicated table layouts or simply want a little more space between content etc… the WYSIWYG editing box does not always match what you see when you preview the actual webpage before publishing the post…

    Unfortunately I doubt there is anything you can do about it – the editing interfaces (like the one WP uses) sometimes interpret the HTML differently in the smaller editing box/frame and the theme CSS changes things to suit itself and different screen widths vs the editing box size and columns and a multitude of other things into play so that the WYSIWYG editor can only end up doing its “best guess” at displaying what it ‘thinks’ the final webpage will look like.

    I doubt there is anything you can do to match the two…

    Using the HTML/text mode you will have more control (but less visual view) and know that the HTML will display as you intend it when you preview but this assumes of course you that you understand HTML….

    Not much help but I hope it offers an explanation.

    If you uploaded them to your site’s Media Library, you should be able to copy the link from the Edit media screen after you upload or from within the Media Library Edit. http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/#sharing-your-screenshot

    You won’t be able to insert the image itself in your forum post, only the link.
