    Tried to subscribe to Web of Debt blog with valid lution?email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) but was denied with ‘invalid email’ message.
    Solution?

    What’s the full address of the site you’re trying to subscribe to? Are you sure you typed the email address correctly?

    Site address is https://ellenbrown.com . Email address is a paste (so misspelling
    impossible). My email address is forwarded through GoDaddy, so I suspect the
    confirmation email didn’t get through to my inbox. Problem is the confirmation hangs in that suspended state with no way to break out of it – no way to cancel subscription request to try again (that I can find). Tried again just now & still hung.

    Is this what you see when you are trying to subscribe to the blog?

    If so, have you trying logging into your account under a different browser to see if you get the same error message. You are currently not subscribed, so you should still see the follow button.

    That’s what I saw when I tried subscribing to the blog. Now I see
    “Thanks for subscribing!
    You’ll get an email with a
    link to confirm your subscription.
    If you don’t get it, please contact us.”
    Using Chrome.

    Tried Safari. That shows the “Sign me up” button you pointed to above. I sign in there. wait for confirming email. Doesn’t come.

    Go to ellenbrown.com again (with Safari). No “Thanks for subscribing”. Just the “Sign me up” button again. Still no confirming email.

    Tried a 3rd time. Went to ellenbrown.com again. No “Thanks for subscribing”. Just the “Sign me up” button again. Still no confirming email.

    Went back to ellenbrown.com with Chrome. Still shows the message in first paragraph above.

    So WordPress is ignoring my request to subscribe using Safari but my request is still hung when using Chrome.

  • We don’t re-send confirmation emails, so if you did go through the process with Chrome, it makes sense we wouldn’t resend the confirmation email.

    Did you receive the email after Chrome? If not, what email address did you use this time?

    I’ve used only one email address – (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  • Ah, I see the problem, you choose the option to block all subscription emails from us, maybe when you unsubscribed from a site earlier. :)

    To fix that, you’ll need to first log out of WordPress.com, then visit https://subscribe.wordpress.com

    If you enter your email address there, you’ll be sent a management link. Stay logged out of WordPress.com, and click that link.

    On the Settings tab, uncheck “Block all email updates from blogs you’re following on WordPress.com”

    Unchecked “Block all email updates from blogs you’re following on WordPress.com” & was able to subscribe to Web of Debt blog.
    Issue resolved. Thanks to all.
