I faced a similar issue on my own site ropeherroapk.com a while back. The problem was due to outdated plugins after restoring an old backup, which caused the critical error message. What worked for me was switching to a default theme and then deactivating all plugins. After that, I reactivated them one by one to find the one causing the problem. You can also check the error logs in your hosting panel they usually give a clear idea of what’s breaking the site.

It sounds like the backup from 2017 may not be compatible with the current WordPress or PHP version, which is why you’re seeing the critical error. A few things you can try:

    1. Check with your hosting provider to see if they have more recent backups.
    2. If not, you can try restoring the backup on a local test environment first, then update plugins/themes before pushing it live.
    3. Sometimes simply renaming or disabling plugins via FTP helps resolve the critical error.

I had a similar issue once and learned a lot while troubleshooting—sharing some resources here: SimulatorsModAPK.

I had the same issue before on my site the SIM owners’ details. In my case, the error appeared after restoring an old backup and some plugins were not updated, which triggered the critical error. What fixed it for me was switching to a default WordPress theme and then disabling all plugins. After that, I enabled them one by one to figure out which plugin was causing the issue. You can also check the error logs from your hosting panel, they usually point directly to the source of the problem.
