Web site files

I’d like to know if it’s possible to actually transfer & host the WordPress web site files (jotados.eu) on my ISP’s server rather than have the files with you as currently I can only access / edit stuff through the web site CP which is a real pain.
If it is possible how do I do this without losing the web site content?
    Thanks

  • Hi there,

I’m not sure what you actually mean – WordPress is software designed to be installed on a web server and accessed and managed via the site dashboard in a browser, via FTP software like FileZilla (for uploading/modifying files directly), or via the command line interface (WP-CLI). You can’t have that software hosted with one provider, but have the files on someone else’s server – the word “hosting” refers to having your site files on a web server connected to the internet, so if you moved your site files to your ISP, they would become your hosting provider.

That said, you don’t have any sites hosted with us, so we don’t control any files for any sites owned by you.

Both sites in your WordPress.com account are merely connected here via the Jetpack plugin, but they are hosted somewhere else, so this is a question for that hosting provider.

You can find help with the open source WordPress software you’re using for those sites in the WordPress.org community forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
