Web site name is not what I wanted

  I wanted my website to be HealingLeaves.Live. However, the name of the site shows as healingleavesdotlive. I set it up the way I did so I wouldn’t have to have wordpress.com as that is way too wordy. How do I direct people to my site. I want the name of it to be HealingLeaves. If wordpress.com is the ending of that anyway, then why would I pay more to have a regular sounding website? Please help. I haven’t even finalized it with payment. I need it to show publicly as healingleaves. Even if it the web address needs to be healing (email visible only to moderators and staff), I would be much happier with that. I do not want to go forward with this until this is resolved and I need to get going.

  Hey there,

  The reason why you see the dotcom on your blog URL is because you entered HealingLeaves.Live.com into the domain field when you were creating the address. Leave the .com out of the field and enter HealingLeaves.Live – you should get your desired results: HealingLeaves.Live.wordpress.com.

  Okay. I didn’t think I did that. The way it looks when you put in a domain name is that the page would be HealingLeaves.live and would cost $18 or $25, don’t remember.

  If I chose HealingLeaves.wordpress.com, then that was free.

  So……if I have to have wordpress and part of the page then I’d leave off .live.

  Next question, so that means I have to start all over?

  Not that I’d done much yet.

  No, you do not need to start over at all.

  All you will need to do is change your blog URL to the address that you prefer (from healingleavesdotlive to healingleaves). Our support page provides instructions on how to do that:
