Web site not coming up, blank

    The web site I need help with is hsosc.wordpress.com or hsosc.com (Until today, either URL worked… hsosc.wordpress.com did not specifically redirect to hsosc.com due to an error made 3-4 years ago by another volunteer web site person at our NFP. Now, typing in hsosc.wordpress.com in the browser window redirects to hsosc.com and no visible site!)

    All the ‘down for me’ sites report that the web site is up, but I only get a blank screen. I’ve tried 3 devices and 3 browsers; both URLs. I CAN ‘visit site’ from the dashboard, for example at https://wordpress.com/stats/insights/hsosc.com

    Site was up yesterday. Domain mapping auto-paid June 21. Does this have anything to do with the fee structure change?

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.     As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

    Please, could you take another look? hsosc.wordpress.com? That is the site we have; as above, the domain mapping was somehow misdone years ago but both URLs worked up until yesterday… and wordpress.com collected $13 for domain mapping last week. Now neither does.

  • Hi @saradesota, it looks like this domain isn’t pointed to our nameservers and instead trying to load up your site using “cloaking” …

    Can you try logging into GoDaddy and pointing the name to these servers?
    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM ,
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM , and
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    If you need to copy email settings over first, no problem; let us know and we can help.

    I did notice though that this is registered under another account, so you will want to log in as the upgrade owner to continue.

    Thanks, Supernovia. I’m just the volunteer; I will work with the Society’s Site Manager tomorrow and try to solve this. I’ve hesitated for years ’cause I was afraid of doing it wrong, but looks like, wrong or right, we have to do something now :(
