Web site suddenly changed

My posts moved from “blog” to “home” on the main menu. Why did this happen and how do I reverse it?

To have your blog posts under “blog” in your menu, rather than on your front (home) page, you will need to set up a static front page and set your blog posts to be on a page titled “blog.” You can find detailed instructions for setting this up here: Setting up a Static Front Page
I would be happy to take a look at why this changed on your blog. Can you just let me know which blog of yours this happened on? I want to make sure I’m looking at the right one. :)

The blog is alflawphotos.com. I was out of the country for a month or so and when I cam back my site had been “rearranged”–perhaps by an automatic update by Wordpost?–and my blog posts moved from Blog to Home, which hadn’t existed before. Thanks for the help. I really like WP and am thinking of moving to a premium theme to include more “stuff.”

Hi there,
According to our records, you recently (yesterday or today) sent a page titled Blog to the trash. This page was set as the Posts page for your blog, so when it was trashed your blog posts were moved back to your home page.
I just restored the Blog page for you — you can find it under Pages in your dashboard. If you want to use this as the page for your blog posts, you will need to select a page to use as your blog’s front page and then set up a static front page again.

Actually, with the help page you sent me I figured out the problem, I think. I originally had the site open to a static Welcome page but decided I liked it better when it opened to the page with blog posts. What I hadn’t counted on was that the blog posts would switch to Home as a result.
I’m happy with the site opening on Home–which has the blog posts–and not having a separate Blog page.

Ah, I’m glad you were able to figure it out! You are right that if you set the front page to show your latest blog posts, the page with the blog posts will be called Home. Home is the default name for the front page of your site.
If you would rather have a different title for your home page, you can set up a Custom Menu for your site and give the home page any title you like. Let me know if you would like further help with that. :)
