Trying to import my wordpress web site baycruisesandwatersports into my wordpress blog site justtalkinggolf as another site.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have checked your both website. Both has a lot of content. To move your content to another blog just follow the steps below:MOVE A WORDPRESS WEBSITE TO ANOTHER WEBSITE
First: You Need To Export Content.
Step-1: Login to your Dashboard (sites you want to export)
Step-2: Go to Tools then Click Export. This will open a new page.
Step-3: Now you can see two plan. One is free plan and other is paid plan. The Paid plan is for self hosted wordpress.org site and this method is completely export and import your all data. A Happiness Engineer will do that for you.
But if your website/blog is in wordpress.com (Seems you are in wordpress.com right now.) you can use free option.
Just Click on Start Export. This will open a new page.
Step-4: Now you have to choose what to export. You can export all content or choose differently by post, page, media, feedback.
If you want to export all Check All Content.
Step-5: Now Click Download Export File. Now you have the content. You have to upload them.
IMPORT IN WORDPRESS:
Step-1: Dashboard > Tools > Import.
Step-2: Now click on WordPress.
Step-3: Choose the file you just export.
Step-4: Click Upload File and Import.
Now this page will prompt and when it is done you’ll see a success message. Don’t refresh your page in this time.
When you see the success message you are all done!

I checked that url that is a wordpress site: https://baycruisesandwatersports.wordpress.com/
That’s why I write the steps. People comes here who don’t have sufficient knowledge in wordpress. Other hand the support docs has a lot of explanation which makes someone confuse (When I was new in wordpress, faced the same problem).

I found it too but I have been here for over 10 years doing this. I focus on teaching people how to fish and I provided the relevant link. Previous to us having any support docs I did the fishing, landed the fish and fed to them. lol :D

Thanks for your step by step import/export process. I did read that in the help section of WordPress but it never mentions importing a website into a blog site or vice versa. I’m new to this as you can easily tell. I guess I just want to put my free website and my free blog site under the same roof so I can switch to either site without having to log out and then log back in with a different email address and password.

I guess I still don’t know if you can or cannot import/export to and or from a website to a blog site or vice versa. Blog site to blog site is possible, I think. But I’m still unsure?
