Web Site Transfer
-
I need an alternative way to access my site. I was told by SiteGround that WordPress does not allow it to transfer the site. As such, I need an alternative way to access my site. Apparently, I got ahead of the process and changed the domain server to point to SiteGround and now it is unable to access the web content to help me with the site transfer.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there!
I was told by SiteGround that WordPress does not allow it to transfer the site.
You can absolutely transfer the content of your WordPress.com site, and upload it into your new site at SiteGround.
Here are the instructions to export your WordPress.com content:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/You can then use your WordPress.org dashboard at Site Ground to import the file.
This guide will step you through the process of moving your site to a WordPress.org instance:

As we only support sites hosted here at WordPress.com, all issues with the new site – including the importing of the file – must be taken to the WordPress.org support community:
If you’d like assistance moving your WordPress.com site to WordPress.org, we have a service called Guided Transfer that does all the work for you. Check it out to see if it’s right for you:

I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

The DNS is no longer pointed at WordPress but at SiteGround. SiteGround just told me to ask you all for an alternative way to access the “backend” from WordPress. I need to access my website’s backend with an alternative link, not stormwaternwnews.com/wp-admin because that is currently with SiteGround.

Hey Tracy,
SiteGround just told me to ask you all for an alternative way to access the “backend” from WordPress.
We don’t grant access to our backend to third party hosts. If you can explain exactly what your goal is, I can certainly help with a solution.
Why does SiteGround want access to our backend?
Thanks!
