Web Sites Misrepresenting

Hi Friends,
I have a couple of sites that are misrepresenting my material. Both sites do not mention me as the author and both have links that redirect the reader directly back to the site that is misrepresenting me. One site is excepting my material. These are the sites [edited out by Trent]I have been in contact with the first site via email,but Alex Gonzalez has yet to correct the matter.
The second site is not presenting my entire post and is not linking to my site or stating that I am the author. That site appears to be presenting my material as though their site is Second Chance to Live. No email contact information on that site, but I have left a comment telling them that they need to remove my material from their site immediately.
Is there a site that you can steer me to that will go after exploiters for me at a minimal if any cost?

Report the booknn site to Google for violating the adsense rules.

While Copyscape http://www.copyscape.com/respond.php won’t go after these people for you, they do list some resources you might find helpful.

The first site says you can contact them at (email visible only to moderators and staff). Do that.

Go to the booknn site. Click on the bottom of the Google ad header, where it says “Feedback, ads by Google”. That takes you to this page:

Through futher research I found this site http://www.seologic.com/faq/dmca-notifications.php which gives email addresses for Alta Vista, All the Web, AOL, Ask Jeeves /Teoma and Yahoo, but does not provide an email for Google to file a DMCA Notification.
In the experience of those who have reported http://www.booknn.cn did you have to send a hard copy to google in California via pony express — thereby taking considerable time to get to google to be read and then acted upon by their legal staff — while booknn.cn continues to exploit my copyright material? Please provide any experience, strength and hope as to how I can expedite the process with Google and the other search engines.

Do just what I said and ignore the link you found. Google is the company he’s making his money from through ads, so getting those ads pulled is the way to go.
Do exactly what I said. That is the fastest way to pull that website down.

hi raincoaster. I attempted to access the http://www.booknn.cn site and receive the following information.
WordPressError establishing a database connection

* Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?

Does this mean that google has stripped http://www.booknn.cn of their privaledges and thus http://www.booknn.cn has been rendered innocuous? What steps do I need to take toward http://www.booknn.cn at this point in time, if any?

Hopefully http://www.booknn.cn does not morph into another site with the same unscrupolous behavior. Hopefully Google has adequately nailed their coffin closed for good. If you find out that http://www.booknn.cn is starting shop at another location, please give me a head’s up. Thank you for your time and kindness. Craig

I just saw another post stolen in my my spam queue. I’ll report it *again* to Google.
Craig, best not to link directly to the site, even in a forum post. It (theoretically) increases it’s Google ranking (but who really understands Google).

Thank you Katm. I have followed Raincoaster’s instruction and reported that web log, to Google.
I am appalled at the audacity of this web site says that they are proudly sponsored by WordPress. I do not know why WordPress staff does not take legal measures to remove this web log / web site from WordPress. Any ideas?
How long does Google take to act upon violaters of copyrighted material?

WordPress cannot take action. It’s like a bank robber who gets away using a Ford. Ford cannot stop him. Ford is not responsible. Ford has been used in the commission of a crime, as WordPress has here.
I don’t know how long Google takes to act. Hopefully not long. At least five people have reported him in a week.

booknn.cn after taking down my stuff is back at harvesting my blog again. i have emailed google adsense, but still awaiting a response. oh yeah, a computer got back to me, what joy.
this booknn targets wordpress bloggers only, as far as i can tell.

Hopefully Google will get hot on this ongoing problem. Thank you for the insight raincoaster. I understand on the analogy per the Ford. I just thought that since WordPress is gaining Google’s respect with an increased rating and presence on the World Wide Web that they could exert some sort of sway with Google to go after cyber scoundrels.

What we could all do is blog about this and, instead of using a real link to his blog just talk about it like “and then there is BookNN dot com” but use a direct link to Google Adsense. Google will suddenly get all these hits from WP.com blogs and every one of those posts will be talking about the fact that they refuse to take this guy down, that they are enabling a criminal.
Just a thought. If you do such a post, put the link in this thread and then we can refer to all the other posts on the topic and thus boost these posts in the Google rankings. I know that at least one of us has already written about this.
