Web Transfer and Domain

    Hi! I’m wanting to transfer from SquareSpace to WordPress, but I want to make sure my site on WordPress is up and running before I delete the one on SquareSpace. I want to transfer the domain name as well, but don’t want to transfer it till the website is ready to be launched. What is the best way for me to do this? Thank you!

    Hey there, no problem. You’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

    I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:

    Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain. Also, when you do transfer the domain, note it takes a few days and some confirmation emails and what not, and then the new site still won’t be live until you opt to make it so. So, if you want to start the transfer early, that will be okay, too.
