Rather than place a webform in my posts, is it possible to intall a webform on my blog
and if so, where can i find out how to do so?

    Thanks in advance,

    Gordon

what do you mean by a webform? We cannot use forms in general due to security concerns (try searching the forums for “forms” to see what others have said).

    Use this: [contact-form]

I’d place it within a Page rather than a Post.

    Discussed here.

(Not directed at you, chopchop since you wouldn’t have found it as ‘webform’ in the FAQ) I’m beginning to think we should take up a collection like if folks ask a FAQ question, then they should contribute a buck to a Paypal account and we should send the money once a month to the Salvation Army or one of the organizations I help out. :)

Thanks for your help. I was really looking for a way to place an autoresponder” lead capture form” on my blog. That’s what I call a webform.

    Can this be done?

    Thanks,

    Gordon

It’s my understanding that Lead Capture and AutoResponders are used for Internet Marketing. Please be aware that WordPress.com blogs are non-commercial free blogs. They are different from the wordpress software that can be downloaded from http://wordpress.org and different rules apply to them. In a nutshell we bloggers hosted by wordpress.com cannot advertise on our blogs here.

If you wish to have a commercial blog your desire can be accommodated here. That’s where you can either download a free blog template that you self host or you can hire a web host to do this for you. There’s a sticky post “please read me first before posting” at the head of the forum you may wish to consult as it clarifies the differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org.

Do you have a link to the Lead Capture and AutoResponder that you want to post? If so please provide it. Also post the code between backticks`. The bactick key is located immediately left of the number 1 on your keyboard.

chopchop, not with what we have here. Forms are removed from all user input due to security concerns. You can do it with regular wordpress and a regular host. With the shared nature of wp.com, if you get hacked, everybody would be at risk.

Just for reference, those footer links in your posts need to go as they would be a ToS violation. I would suggest placing that link within your sidebar along with a small bit on why folks should go to that site.

Thank you, all very much for your help – very much appreciated. I’ll obviously have to
    consider other options.

    Much obliged,

    Gordon
