What is the cost of the WordPress value bundle after the first year?
Also, is there any easier way to get support like live chat support or something?

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.com hosts blogs free of charge on this multiser blogging platform. Purchasing a bundle of upgrades does not change that at all. The hosting is till free of charge. I don’t know if the bundle price will increase next year or not.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/bundles/These WordPress.com support forums are peer support forums where Volunteers and Staff work cooperatively to deliver WordPress.com support. Volunteers answer most questions and Staff monitor. When Volunteers cannot provide the required support we flag threads for Staff attention.
There is no phone support here. If you have purchased an upgrade then you can contact Staff directly using this link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ If you have not purchased an upgrade then simply post what you need help with into this thread.

The value bundle will be $ 99– a year until they change the price – there is no first year deep discount to then stick it to you the next year – they can change the price if conditions change – from my few years here they are slow to raise prices and then only modest raises – the Value Bundle is a recent addition to save people a bit –
Sorry no live chat – just us real people helpers here and the staff

What is the cost of the WordPress value bundle after the first year?
The same as the first. Bundles are annually renewable subscriptions.

By the way, that is not really webhosting.

Ok so should I go with REAL webhosting, or wordpress? I need a sort of glorified blog type site, want to add a slideshow with links to higher-res images ..or something along those lines. I also want a blog that I can customize to my liking. The site will be dedicated to my 3D modeling, and future employers will be looking at it so I need a professional look. I don’t need flash or a forum or anything too fancy.
I’ve read about some webhosts increasing prices drastically after the first year, so I was curious about whether or not the price would be ridiculous if I renewed after the first year. I have not yet upgraded to pro, was wanting to ask my questions first :)
Thanks everyone for your responses thus far.

See > Using WordPress.com to Create a Website http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/
A WordPress blog can either be structured as a page based website or its conventional post based structure can be retained. That’s why understanding the differences between posts and pages, http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ comprehending the SEO implications of creating a page based structure, and knowing how to use custom menus http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
are key to decision making when selecting a theme, and setting up your WordPress.com blog. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/05/12/better-blogging-at-wordpress-com-pages-and-posts/One one hand, none of the characteristic “blog” features likes categories, tags, authors, dates, etc. can be removed from a free hosted WordPress.com blog without purchasing an annually renewable custom design upgrade and doing the required CSS editing.

I forgot to correct the “One one” in the copy and paste. It was meant to be “On one” -
I’ve read about some webhosts increasing prices drastically after the first year,
I’ve seen just the opposite. The first year usually includes some sort of set-up costs and hosting at full cost — usually something less than $10/mo. Subsequent years are discounted by 10% or more in many cases, though not all. In some cases where a site generates very heavy traffic, there may be some extra costs for additional bandwidth.

Everything you’ve specifically mentioned is doable here, but when you say you want “a blog that I can customize to my liking” that raises a red flag.
How are your coding skills? With the Custom Design upgrade, you get staff support to make the changes you want, but you cannot add external themes or change the functionality of the underlying themes, you can only change the CSS.
