Webmaster tool verification issue

  Hi! I am trying to use Google Webmaster tool and for this, I have to verify my site’s identity on search console. I am using the same method as demonstrated in https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/ but when I finally go to console for verifying it, it shows “we found nothing on this location”. So, my identity is not being verified. Kindly help me with this.

  Are you seeing this on the Google Webmaster tool console?

  What method of verification are you using? You should click on “Alternate methods” section and choose “HTML tag” option. It generates a code that you will have to paste on the “Site verification services” section on this page https://wordpress.com/settings/traffic

  After doing that, go back to the Google Webmaster tools console and click on the Verify button which should successfully verify your site.
