  I created my site through hostgator subscription, but my site has wordpress added to the website name. Please help!!!

  Yes my domain and hosting is through hostgator but was informed to use their wordpress installer to create a site which i did, but the name is now asedahomecare.wordpress.com instead of asedahomecare.com

  If Hostgator hosts your site and domain you need to be reaching out to them for help in setting up your site. This is WordPress.com which is a completely different place where sites can be hosted, It sounds like you have created another totally different account as well as a free site over here when you need to be over there.

  no, hostgator told me to reach out to you. I was supposed to receive a free website through wordpress. but regardless, is there anyway to have the wordpress removed from my domain name without a monthly subscription?

  By “you” are you sure they didn’t mean that you need to install the wordpress.org software to your site?

  You’ll need to decide where exactly you want to build your site. Here at WordPress.com or over at HostGator?

  Hostgator and WordPress.com are two different places where sites can be hosted. The only way to use your Hostgator domain with your WordPress.com site is by purchasing a paid Personal plan or higher for that site here to enable you to map the Hostgator domain. But you already said earlier that you had paid Hostgator to host a site.
